Our Story
Sharing the Love of Flowers for Future Generations

Hello! I’m Angela, otherwise known as Red. Back in 2016, I had a budding dream of pursuing sustainable floriculture. So I dug in and got my hands dirty, and with the support of my family, my sustainable
flower farm began to grow.
Commitment to soil quality is at the heart of our farm. At Red's Petals, our family is proudly dedicated to improving farming practices in the Wausau community, all while taking care of our environment. We
believe that, using sustainable methods, we can provide the most fresh, beautiful cut flowers possible.

Growing up, my dad and grandpa gave me the nickname “Red,” because of my red hair, of course. When I reflect on the challenges in my life, I realize that it’s my parents that got me through. When I didn’t believe in myself, they pushed me and never gave up on me. So it only made sense to name my flower farm Red’s Petals.
In every journey, there are moments that define us. For me, it began with navigating the rough waters of mental health struggles in high school. But amidst this storm, my parents provided unwavering support. One particular setback in college left me shattered. But, a simple message from my father that became my guiding light: "Focus on your future, and everything else will fall into place." When graduate school didn't unfold as planned, my mother's encouragement stayed with me: "Don't let one failure define you," she urged. And so, I pivoted towards nursing—a path fueled by my own childhood experiences with surgeries, instilling in me a deep empathy for others.
During my teenage years, a job at a local florist sparked a love affair with flowers, providing me with a sense of peace and purpose in arranging bouquets to brighten someone's day. And in 2016, volunteering at a vegetable farm unveiled a newfound passion for cultivating the land, reconnecting me with the light and magic I had experienced at the florist.
My lifelong love of flowers and new-found enjoyment of farming inspired my husband Brad and I to use our 9 acres of land to give my passion project a shot. With the love and support of our families and some excellent mentors, Red’s Petals was born! Now I get to show my daughters, Samantha and Hayden, the lessons that my parents taught me: work hard, never give up, and you can make your dream a reality. I love that I get to improve soil sustainability, provide local cut flowers to my community, and share the joy that they bring to my neighbors!
This journey isn't just about flowers; it's about tenacity, growth, and the beauty of possibility.
Never stop growing!
